City of Genk

With ICMA the City of Genk will:

  • improve the price models for difficult accessible destinations

  • improve the regional demand responsive transport provision through efficient fleet management

  • stimulate bicycle mobility

  • improve the connectivity for social/welfare facilities and industrial sites

For that purpose Genk will develope a pricing model which optimizes the costs-to-customer for accessing difficult accessible key destinations. In co-operation with the sub-partner OCMW the City of Genk will also develop and test new information and communication technologies which allow to use the potential of volunteer workforce resources, when dispatching journeys.

Further Genk in co-operation with the City of Dordrecht will deliver an training approach to stimulate the bicyclew mobility within the city, including bicycle training for those who never learned to ride a bike.

The City of Genk is also activity leader of the "amobilife connections" - theme, which focusses on the connectivity between and within rural and urban areas. It will coordinate all actions and will be responsible for identifying and integrating the transferable and replicable elements into the thematic strategy of the future activity field of the transnational competence hub.

The City of Genk will host the final event of the project in March 2012 including a presentation of a jointly developed European Benchmarking Tool.
