In the exciting setting of the Northern Quarter in Manchester, GMPTE hosted a ICMA Amobilife Thematic Workshop, last Tuesday, 15th March 2011, more than 30 stakeholders and decision makers from 8 European countries were impressed by the best practice examples fostering sustainable commuting accross North West Europe.
Contributions covered relevant issues targeting operators as well as customers. Presentations highlighted complementary aspects such as mobility advice for enterprises, communication-based approaches involving enterprises, mobility management for industrial sites, actions frameworks for sustainble travel choices and considerations about succes factors of demand responsive transport and community-based travel training.
Together, the presentations and the following expert discussion opened numerous cross-connections and new transnational insights how different approaches could be connected in the future.
