ICMA@Uppsala: First Successful Transfer of ICMA Amobilife Activities

23.09.10

Anja Georgi, managing director of the local public transport organisation of Offenbach NiO, was invited by the local traffic organisation Uppland Lokaltrafik in Uppsala, Sweden in order to promote projects developed by Offenbach within the framework of the transnational North-West European Interreg IVB partnership ICMA Amobilife. Focussing on improving the capability and confidence of senior citizens to make use of public transport offers, NiO / Offenbach was the first city among the ICMA Amobilife project sites that successfully implemented the train-the-trainer scheme.

Being impressed by the success of the training scheme, with over 110 seniors trained since the start of the program, the Uppland Lokaltrafik decided to adapt the approach in their region. On this purpose the Swedish colleagues consider to join one of the upcoming training sessions in Offenbach to learn more about the training programme.
