Bridging the Mobility Gap for a mobilife in Northwest-Europe
Providing attractive and effective alternatives to using the private car for the ‘first and last miles’ of journeys is a key to unlocking a mobilife in Northwest Europe.
In this EU-funded Interreg IVB project, 11 organizations from 7 Northwest European countries are creating the first transnational platform for sharing and transferring innovative and sustainable approaches to meet this challenge.
We will focus on the social, economic, technological and organisational aspects of this challenge, and the best use of existing resources and infrastructure, to:
- provide and test missing links in mobility chains;
- improve public transport information, booking options and connections;
- improve the scheduling and delivery of door to door transport;
- provide mobility training for people using different modes
On this interactive platform you will find the most innovative and sustainable solutions for matching your mobilife challenges. Contribute your solution here.

The ICMA amobilife Final Conference Event: "Pursuing Perfect Journeys" took place in Genk, 13-14th March 2012 and was hosted by the City of Genk and OCMW Genk at the impressive "C-Mine" Conference Centre. For the last three years the ICMA amobilife consortium has been implementing various door-to-door mobility solutions, in order to ensure seamless mobility for different target groups. The final event aimed at synthesizing the results of the project as well as exploring the opportunities for transferring the implemented pilot actions to other North-West European cities.
Participating in the EU-funded Interreg IVB NWE mobility projects cluster "SYNAPTIC", the ICMA amobilife project did also host the SYNAPTIC Round Table on "Seamless Door-to-Door Journeys for an Ageing Population: the importance of mobility; managing demographic change". This Round Table took place on 13th March 2012 and is integral part of the ICMA Amobilife Final Event.
